Horse in tense (incorrect) walk PDF Udskriv Email

This video shows how a horse shall NOT walk. He is very tense and he uses the muscles in his back and underneck (mainly brachiocephalicus) to lift the front because he cannot properly transfer the energy from the back legs through the back and to the front legs. Most young horses and many incorrectly trained older horses choose to walk this way. In nature and on pasture it will not harm them! But with a rider on top this walk will make them stiff and unwilling and unable to both walk trot and gallop in self-balance.
